I'm VP/Group Planning Director at Barkley and head our agency's account planning activities.
I've been a lifelong student of communications, and my entire career (3 decades now) has been in some form of the advertising, communications, and marketing business. I started out as a writer--first as an editor at a trade association publication, later as member of team of writers on a live radio show on WHYY in Philadelphia.
For many years, I ran my own shop, DG&A Communications. I sold it to Adamson Advertising (now just Adamson) in 2001. I'm also an adjunct professor of communications at Webster University, where I teach a variety of planning and strategy courses in the graduate School of Communications.
I have a bachelor's degree in history from Washington University in St. Louis and a master's in communications from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania.
