Suppose Republicans held 60 votes in the Senate, and spent the better part of a year passing bills in both houses of Congress that privatized Social Security. But before the bills could be reconciled, they lose one of their seats in a special election in Georgia to a Democrat who vows to stop their bill.
One way to pass their bill is for the House to pass the bill that the Senate had passed, even though it would be denounced as an outrage by the minority Democrats and even if the Senate bill had some notable flaws.
What do you think Republicans would do?
You don't even have to think about it. The House would pass the Senate bill and the Republican president would sign it.
Republicans are fearless in pursuing their own agenda. Democrats need to start thinking like them.

It's not fearlesness that makes Rs pursue their own agenda. It's independent confirmation from the people. Ds elitism v Rs populism.
